Where Can I Find An Online/Distance Learning Translation Course?

Searching the internet, I have found that there are quite a few courses available. Some of them are quite specialised and a lot of institutions only offer courses for a limited range of language pairs. Hopefully the following review will give you some good pointers to the sort of course you may be looking for.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Translation - Distance Learning Route. City University (London, UK) offers a range of distance learning courses leading to the Diploma in Translation Examination. Courses are available for a good range of language pairs, and for those not yet offered other languages may be made available if demand is sufficient.   • Words Language Services (Dublin, Ireland) offers 'internationally recognised CERTIFICATE and DIPLOMA courses for professional translators, which may be followed from anywhere in the world by distance learning'. The WLS Certificate in Translation is billed as suitable for novice translators, with the focus on practical translation training and subject areas typical to commercial translation.
